Artist's Comments

Silentgeek.com is back online, after a few short days of downtime its back. Better then ever and ready for complete w3.org love.

Why did I remake the web site again?
I've been sick the last few days and thought that the old version of silentgeek, bluntly was crap. This time every component, project and future pages of this web site will be xhtml 1.0 strict and valid.

Damn they are some sexy icons, who made them?
The icons have been created with Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta and the Webdings font.

The fuse engine is a simple yet effective php and flat file based system.

Fuse features:
• Easy to use and update content
• Flat file
• w3.org Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS
• Relative content names, for example new article would be called news.article
• Modular and template based
• Powered by nachos, iced coffee and lack of sleep

Thanks, Cas.

While you are compleatly correct jtobinj

I will stand by the fact that the web site has been developed for the web standards.

IE can diaf.

Don't get me wrong, I think IE6 is the biggest pile of crap ever invented. Its just that its still sadly the most popular browser, so I plan on waiting until the majority of people are using standards compliant browsers before sticking to them. Thats not to say its impossible to make a site adhere to standards and work flawlessly in IE6, it just takes more time and effort.

Having said that, its fine if you wish to make sites just for new browsers (it will probably even help encourage people to upgrade), and your site does look good in them.

Thanks for the feed back, I do appreciate it :)

I know exactly what you mean, there is a time for change and the time should be now.

In the past I have created websites to work with any common browser, but bluntly I've just had enough of IE and it's crap. I've not no reason to create "hacks" to solve my xhtml/css/design methods and other issues as they should work perfectly fine and sadly don't, like you said IE truly is a pile of crap.

GL with your own web adventures, like anyone doing this...you need it ;)

ps. Don't even get me started on IE 7 lol.

Anytime,
Leca.

No problem, I'll probably forget about IE6 if it starts giving me too much trouble again :P I don't mind fixing a few things for it if the problems are easy enough to repair, but I don't think its worth sacrificing large/important parts of the functionality or design of a website just to accommodate those who have not upgraded or made the switch to a better browser.
